Little help?
Hey everyone. I'm Zach, a 2007 June poet, and I was hoping you guys could help me out. Does anyone know of journals that will accept work that has been previously published in an undergraduate literary magazine that only has campus-wide distribution? Crab Orchard Review is the only journal I've found thus far that will accept this work as part of its editorial policy. Does anyone know of any others?
Thank you!
Thank you!

Zach,
Rules such as these are constantly in flux; sometimes it takes a direct query to determine whether a journal even *has* a policy on this specific issue. Personally, I do not think that a limited-distribution publication (such as a campus-wide magazine) disqualifies a work from publication in a venue with national (or international) distribution (either in print or online).
Similarly, I do not feel that posting a *draft* of a work on one's blog is equivalent to having the work published online, though I can see the wisdom in removing such drafts after a short period (as some advise), so they're not "permanently" "up" (searchable).
When I've been asked to submit work to the Bucknell undergrad journal (Mirthgrinder), I've happily done so, but I those poems later to literary magazines and did not feel the need to mention their Mirthgrinder appearance.
Just my two cents' worth. Hope you're doing well. I miss the Junies!
