How I wish I were anticipating Lewisburg's lovely lamps again...

I've fallen into cyber-disrepair (although I am a bit of a facebook junky). I admit.

I am working on my thesis, which will tenatively be about Cajun mysticism, music, and the little way. I am into transforming dance halls into abattoirs.

Living in a post-Apocalyptic city is not so bad right now. Although the weather is once more volatile. Sure there are pockets of desparation and destruction, but I thankfully live in the "sliver by the river" or "bubble." Linda and I will move away from this mess with a pre-emptive evacuation to Paris for the Fall Semester.

I wonder what our year is doing now, whether it still abides by the virtue of wanton behavior.

Oh and Chicago was beautiful.

One more week--

--before the June Seminar, and I've just sent out invitations to this year's June Poets to join the blog. It would be great to hear about some of your summer plans.

I'll be teaching summer comp, trying to finish a few new poems, and making preparations for three courses this fall. Very exciting. No travel plans. If anyone's passing this way en route to oh, I don't know, NEW YORK, e-mail me! You've gotta stop for coffee in good old Lewisburg.

Recommendations? First Book Prizes

Hello, Fellows:

Katie has asked me to post a question on her behalf: Which of the multitude of first-book prizes out there do y'all think are the "best," and why?

Hope everyone's well. I'm working in the garden a lot, and will be teaching comp during summer session in six weeks.

Cheers,

Ron
